Every state's mornings under permanent daylight saving time
In Boise, ID the sun would rise as late as 9:18 AM. 14 of 303 big cities in the lower 48 would see a sunrise after 9 AM. Each state has its own page, with its own cities.
What permanent standard time would do instead
205 of the same cities would see the sun rise before 5 AM in June, and 192 would keep sunsets before 5 PM.
The country whose clocks are furthest from the sun
In Seville, Spain, the sun is highest at 2:30 PM in July.

Spokane, WA: 3:58 PM on December 11.
Who gets the most light after work
Madrid gets 768 hours a year after 5 PM on weekdays. Recife gets 99.

Figures are for calendar 2027 unless a heading says otherwise, worked out with NOAA's solar equations and the IANA time zone database (version 2026e) at each place's coordinates from GeoNames. Sunrise and sunset put the sun's center 0.833° below a flat horizon, so hills move a real place by minutes. Download the figures.
